The Islamic faith encourages women to not draw attention to themselves, yet women want to feel and look beautiful no matter where their faith lies. This is just part of being a woman in the modern world. Ninety-seven percent of the Turkish population is Muslim, and within this population there are two groups: secularist and religious. The two groups generally do not mingle. Yet religious Muslim women are increasingly becoming more apart of mainstream society. In a secular state like Turkey, where Fashion TV and MTV are easy to see on cable TV, magazines like Elle, Marie Claire, or Figaro Madame have their Turkish version, women from both groups are exposed to the latest trends all over the world. There is more of a need for Muslim women to dress in a way that respects their faith yet is also practical and chic in public.
